Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
A not directly related, nevertheless interesting, question, prompted by one of the photos seen here: when did the size of the unit code (in front of the fuselage cross) change from regular to small size?
Thanks, in advance.

My only valid pointer for Gerbini / Foggia as a possible airfield for this 109 are the two photos of the I./KG 76 Ju 88's certainly documented there in late September 1943. Careful checking of the known "Gelbe 5" AND positive identification of the destroyed hangar in the background will give us - hopefully - a better clue. Cheers Marc |

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Thanks Marc.
The photo of Ju 88 G, etc. (last link in your post #1139) was not taken at Brunnthal but at Neubiberg. Cheers, Roger |

Does anyone have more details/photos of that Stuka in a ditch? I believe the photo was taken at Bayreuth-Bindlach. Thanks,

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes
Greetings Rudi,
Thank you for your postings. Regarding this photo I believe that it illustrates Fw 190 G-3 (WNr. 160485) marked 22 red and St.Kz. VL+ZI, found abandoned at Fl.Pl. Metz-Frescaty, France. Respectfully, Steve Sheflin |
