Ofhr Josef Neuhaus - ace from ZG 26 and JG 7

Hello to all!
Please could someone inform me the backgrounds of Ofhr Josef Neuhaus? It is stated on JG 7 book that he flew with ZG 26 and had some 15 kills to his credit when he become a 262 pilot.
I tried to find out information about his background in the Luftwaffe but did not find much ( only one claims against a P-51 in April 1944 ).
When he was born?
Where he was trained?
Did he fly in the Mediterranean or in Russia?
Someone has more information about his first 15 victories?
Any information about crashes or crashlandings he sustained?
Glad in advance for any information about him
Adriano

Hi Adriano,

An old thread but I am also trying to find info on Josef Neuhaus. I have the Flugbuch to his Bordfunker. From what I can see so far they flew together with ZG 26, ZG 2, NJG 5 and NJG 101.

Early days as I have only just started looking at the Flugbuch.

Regards,
Ian

IAN,

Uou! That's wonderful news....Never imagined that he had flown with the Nachtjagd....How many flights altogether? Would you have the time (year, month, date) they went to each unit? That would be great....and also those 15 claims....air to air, or air to ground as well??

Quite nice information Ian....Thanks for sharing that here.

A.

Two known victories were P-51s. One victory, a P-51 at Neuseidler See on 23 April, 1944. A P-51 in the Wittenberg area on 7 April, 1945. A B-17 in the Magdeburg area on 10 April, 1945. Neuhaus was featured on the History Channel with several other Me 262 pilots. Deceased. Magnus Report, 15 victories.

Re: Ofhr Josef Neuhaus - ace from ZG 26 and JG 7

Looking at what Johannes has written, he has only located two claims made by this Neuhaus

His date of birth is listed as 1918-04-21

On the other hand Johannes only lists him with ZG 26 and JG 7, so he may have claimed something with the other units listed by Ian, but I doubt much is missing from the NJG units and of all the ZG units, ZG 26 is pretty well documented I think, while ZG 2 is a very dark horse in my lists....

Cheers
Stig

Re: Ofhr Josef Neuhaus - ace from ZG 26 and JG 7

Quick check, I noted:
1) 19.07.1941 3./ZG 26 ???? ??? Uffz. Neuhaus
2) 20.07.1941 3./ZG 26 Il-2? ??? Uffz. Neuhaus
3) 10.08.1941 3./ZG 26 ??? NW Luga Uffz. Neuhaus
4) 06.09.1941 3./ZG 26 Schlachtflzg. ??? Uffz. Neuhaus
5) 10.09.1941 3./ZG 26 Doppeldeck. ??? Uffz. Neuhaus
6) 07.10.1941 3./ZG 26 Il-2? ??? Uffz. Neuhaus
7) 10.06.1942 5./ZG 2 ??? ??? Uffz. Neuhaus
8) 04.07.1942 5./ZG 2 ??? ??? Uffz. Neuhaus

Not sure the claim of 23/4/44 is the same Neuhaus.
