140 Wing

Who are these pilots and navigators ? The photos are taken in May or June 1945 in Aarhus and the personel are probably some of the people that participated in the attack on Aarhus University (Gestapo HQ) in October 1944.

Re: 140 Wing

A newspaper article about the Denmark visit. Perhaps they went both to Copenhagen and Aarhus. Ted Sismore led both raids.

Names mentioned in the newpaper article are S/L (Edward) Sismore, Basil Embry, Captain (Robert) Bateson, S/L Clarke, W/C (Robert Wilson) Iredale.

A movie about the Shell House raid: https://www.journeyman.tv/film/5618

Re: 140 Wing

They went to Copenhagen and Aarhus. The pilots came from 21, 464 and 487 Squadron plus HQ 140 Wing.
The pictures above are from Aarhus and some of the crews participated in both attacks. I am trying to identify the persons on the pictures. I live about 400 meters from Aarhus University, that they attacked on the 31st of October 1944. It was one of the best low level attacks of the war.

Hello,

Can't see any sign of the following three participants in your photographs:
