You are right, Peter, and technology did a big step forward indeed. I have an album made on digital printer and I see no deficiencies to traditional method.

Re: A new JG 26 Chronicle?

Dear Eric,
I would gladly buy the English edition of your JG2 AND the JG26 history - except Vol.1 of JG2 (I already own this).
Additionally I would like to buy the volume 3 of your JG5-history.

Paying in advance would not be the problem ...

As your work focuses on personal accounts my "limited" (=nearly inexistent) abilities in reading French makes it rather difficult to enjoy the content.

Perhaps it is possible to publish the French editions and to give access to English or German translations as PDF-files for "book-owners" only?

Greetings and keep up your work!

Ralph

Every digiprint I have seen has been inferior in every possible way.

Re: A new JG 26 Chronicle?

And any PDF-stuff can be forgotten at once, at least if the intention is to sell books to me. The suggestion alone is an insult.

Re: A new JG 26 Chronicle?

Eric,
Everything you have written in English I have purchased, however I hesitate at buying you're other language tomes as my command of French and German is rather fragmentary and it's such an great effort to read them (Yes I do have some!).

In short: I hope you will decide to publish English editions of ALL your works.

Jukka
Digiital books depend on the time spent in reproducing them and the specification of the scanning equipment or software. The ones I have seen do indeed vary but to describe then all as 'digicrap' is crass.

Regards

Chris

Re: A new JG 26 Chronicle?

I just have the feeling that Franek intentionally advocates those digimanures and PDFs knowing that I will NEVER buy a print on demand book or a PDF book.

In my "book" doing something print on demand means that the product is third class junk.

Re: A new JG 26 Chronicle?

Lets maintain focus.

I think this about covers all the pros and cons of publishing on demand, the choice is up to Erik and his partners, not to us...making any continued discussion on the subject quite pointless.

To me it is a surprise that these books have such limited runs in the first place, I always thought in higher numbers (thousands and not hundreds).

Re: A new JG 26 Chronicle?

hello,

Yes Ruy, unfortunately, we are speaking more about hundreds than thousands, even for an English edition. The poll does not move now any more, this shows 50 guys on this very specialized forum who would purchase a copy. The market is indeed, very small.
best regards

Erik
