Flt Lt John Coghlan DFC

Hi guys

I'm uncertain if the loss of John Coghlan has been previously discussed, but I wonder if anyone has additional information?

He was reported killed in action together with a French agent following a Lysander flight to France on 17 August 1940. As far as I am aware, both were captured and executed (?), although I understand that Coghlan's body was recovered from the sea. Would this not suggest that the aircraft crashed into the sea rather than on land?

And do we know the identity of the agent?

Any ideas?

Cheers
Stay safe
Brian
