unknown device on captured Luftwaffe airfield

Hi all,

Attached is a photo of an unknown device (radar or listening device???) seen on a captured Luftwaffe airfield. The airfield was used by US Forces when this photo was taken. Anyone know what this thing is? It was standing not far away from a 40 mm Bofors AAA gun.

Thanks in advance.

Re: unknown device on captured Luftwaffe airfield

From memory I remember seeing some "hearing devices" used by the LW at the beginning of the war, but am not sure if some may have been still used (even though as Training Platforms) up to 1945 period.
Your Picture "seems to be" such a Sounding Device for Flak (do not know the name by heart or code...OR...a totally damaged little Wurzburg radar (a second probability on this case).

Rudi,
that is a damaged/ destroyed remainder of a FuSE 64 Mannheim/ FuMG 41 T.
Tell tale is the reflector/ antenna in latice/ framework.

This is how a complete one looks like:

Re: unknown device on captured Luftwaffe airfield

Thanks Adriano & Christian for your help. Very much appreciated.

You are quite right, Christian. It's indeed a Mannheim radar.
