25 Squadron night patrols on the night of 07 to 08 September 1940

Good night to all.

Three night patrols (totalling 8 flying hours) were carried out by 25 Squadron on the night of 07 do 08 September 1940 (only recorded 07 September on the ORB).

Pilot Officer Harold Stewart Lusk (RAFVR 72539) flew that night.
F/O William Alexander Coote Emmett (RAFO 39723) also flew that night, and;
Sgt.Kenneth Bruce Hollowell (RAFVR 113338).

I CAN NOT find the take-off and landing times of each of those airmen, the code (individual letter) of their aircraft (Blenheim IF) and the full crew names. ANY help on that information is most welcomed.

Hi Adriano,

Form 541 with the requested info in missing from the Squadron ORB, perhaps the appendices of ORB Fighter Command or Appendices ORB 11 Group may contain part of the info you're after.
I've never seen radio letters in these documemts, but take off and landing times may be mentioned. It will be a quest to narrow these down to individual pilots, though.

Regards,
Hans

Hello Hans,

YES, I am aware that this particular page from FORM 541 is missing...I thought that maybe someone did have it, or have seen it somewhere. The other pages do inform the code letter of individual aircraft (NO serial number informed, sadly), with the take-off and landing times, plus additional information regarding the crew. Some flights on Blenheims IF were made with 2 crewmembers, some with 3 crewmembers; I do not know why. I am indeed interested on the flights of the night of 07 to 08 September 1940....But, thank you for answering, Hans!

I will have a try at the Appendices ORB 11 Group....maybe something arise from there...

Adriano

Re: 25 Squadron night patrols on the night of 07 to 08 September 1940

Hi,

I have 25 squadrons 540 and 541 for this period.
Sadly, although the 540 mentions the flight the details are not recorded in the 541. I suspect that either A flight or B flights entries are missing from the records.
