Halifax bombed over Montorgueil 25/6/44

Halifax MZ 753 coded DY-M of RAF 102 Sqn based at Pocklington (Yorkshire) took off at 07H50 on Sunday 25 June 1944 to bomb the V1 launch site at Montorgueil in the Pas de Calais. While on its bombing run, it was involved in a "friendly fire" accident: another Halifax from RAF 10 Sqn released its payload prematurely bringing down both MZ 753 and LL549 from 77 Sqn. Both crews were lost, including my uncle, Sgt Derrick Sykes, the flight Engineer aboard MZ 753. All 14 men are buried in the churchyard at Fontaine l'Etalon.

No fighter activity was recorded in the area at the time of the attack, only some Ack-Ack; would anyone know whether any records exist from German units on the ground (military or administrative) that might shed any further light on this incident?

With thanks
