JUNKER 88 CRASH IN TOULOUSE

Can anyone help me find information on a Junker 88 shot in Toulouse on the evening of 6 January 1944 by a mosquito ?

I found the remains of this aircraft thanks to a local farmer and would like to re-build the story. I have the name of the english pilot F/L Lawson (23 Squadron) and I would like to have data on this JU88 (registration, crew name..) .

This JU88 was shot in Pechbusque (close to Toulouse), while on approach to land in Francazal airfield. It was probably a training flight and the mosquito was prowling...

Thanks to you all !

Re: JUNKER 88 CRASH IN TOULOUSE

great great !!!

thanks for this info, can I ask you where you got it ? would you have a copy of the german record on this crash ?

also can you also help me translate the german wording ?

Now, I would like to make a model of this JU88 : how can I get the livery/paint scheme of KG76 ?

Thanks a lot.

Gilles

3 junkers 88 hit or crashed in toulouse area on 6 january 1944

Good evening,

On 6 january 1944, three JU88 of IV KG76 were either damaged or crashed in Toulouse area due to Mosquito intruders (23 Sq.) or Flak lights blindness.

These aircraft were :

- Wnr 0166 F1+DU Crew: M. Jungbeck, M. Scafer, H. Deigmoller and Andresen

- Wnr 4395 F1+EV Crew G. Frick, Georg, Richter, Werner crashed due to pilot incapacited (blinded) by Flak lights

- Wnr unknown, Crew: L. Wimmer, K. Geiger, G. Wieland, hit and damaged by night fighters, managed to escape and to land although landing gear was damaged.

I am looking for information about these events, these aircraft and the crews.

Any help will be appreciated, would it be reports, pictures, etc...

Regards

GC
