Re: Lt Dietrich Decker victim of friendly fire

It's right Juha.
I had the answer in my archives,I would have had to refine my search!

A little remarck:
Apparently,it was his 10th official victory,it seems a little strange that this manifest error has been credited to him as victory!

Ha ha, yes Michel (but not funny for Lt Decker). It would probably be easier to shoot down a friendly aircraft, so it shouldn't count!

Re: Lt Dietrich Decker victim of friendly fire

Hello Michel
Yes, it is strange!

Hello Peter
it was not particularly easy case because it was a night kill while flying a B-239 and one of his wing mg malfunctioned making handling the plane difficult when firing. The He 111 was on a secret agent dropping mission and info on its flight was not known at the base from were Karu operated or was off its given track. I cannot remember exactly for sure the all facts.

Yes, those are exceptional circumstances. Very unfortunate.
