Captured Bf 109 RAE Farnborough

I'm trying to learn more about the testing of a captured Bf 109 in May-June 1940, at the Royal Aircraft Establishment in Farnborough.

I would love to know more about the tests and especially about the mock-dogfight it had with a Spitfire.

I live by the RAE now and I'm trying to help my local museum with some info.

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers,

Chris

I presume you have the book 'War Prizes' by Phil Butler from Midland Counties Publications 1994 - ISBN 0 904597 86 5

This covers the use of several Bf 109s that the RAE had.

Chris,

Messerschmitt Bf109 at war by Armand van Ishoven also contains some insights into what was learned from the capture Bf109E
