Bf 110E G9+JM, 4/NJG1 in Feb 1942 (Op Donnerkeil)

Hi All,

Would anyone know any information about the crew that flew the shark-mouthed Bf 110E G9+JM of 4/NJG1 based at St Trond, Belgium, used in the Operation Donnerkeil in February 1942?

Thank you very much

Franklin

Hello,

Another source for photo:

History of the German Night Fighter Force 1917-1945.
Aders,Gebhard
London:Jane's,1979.
Between pp.44-5 (Photo: ex-NJG 1 & 4, Hans Autenrieth).

Caption: For Operation Donnerkeil, the Channel dash by the German capital ships in 1942, the covering night fighters were resprayed in sea green camouflage (Autenrieth)

Probably in original Motorbuch (1978) edition, and latest English translation as well.

Col.

Hello ,

I know that Meister , Greiner , Schnaufer and Gresens flew on this operation , i found also the names Röhr , Bockelmeyer and Laakman but it don't know if the last three were pilots or bordfunkers.

I found two more NJG 1 pilots who flew in Op Donnerkeil: Lt. Autenrieth and Ofw. Schönherr.
