Thanks for the site link to USSBS reports. I can't tell whether or not the site has gone fallow. The "About us" and other basic links at the bottom seem to be inactive. Further, I couldn't figure out how to download the reports as reports rather than as single pages and, considering their length, the latter would be pretty laborious. What am I missing?

Regarding 17 m3, I wasn't in my mind translating it into liters. 1 m3 is a cube 1 meter on a side. A liter is 1000 cubic centimeters or 1000 milliliters and is thus a cube 10 cm on a side. There are 1000 millimeters in a meter or 100 cm in a meter. We thus have 10 x 10 x 10 = 1000 liters in a cubic meter, as you say.

I too thank Kutscha for firstly finding the documents and, secondly, presenting them here; much appreciated!

From memory 1 litre of WW 2 High Octane avgas weighs about 711 grammes, so 1,000 L = about 711 Kg; these are very rough measurements because I don't know how much B4 or C3 weighed...

A bit late, but let me add Carl my appreciation for the fuel shortage data. Fuel shortage, as a whole, drastically curtailed the Luftwaffe's ability to put up any meaningful defense in 1945. With the Me 262, it would be J2, but everything was in short supply, except, possibly, for aircraft. Thus, while Germany made a huge effort to produce Me 262's, one has to wonder, even be skeptical, if this emphasis was simply wishful thinking.
