unidentified names within JG 77

Hi Researchers

Have got three claims with names i have been unable to identify involving two pilots, all at the same timeline:-

9th June 1944 4./JG 77 0917 hrs B-24 Uffz "Enertz" but could be almost anything really.

10th June 1944 7./JG 77 0903 hrs P-38 Uffz "Hoffessumer" The first six letters and probably correct, then anybody's guess, but I've been steering away from ending "mann", but how can tell.

11th June 1944 7./JG 77 0925 hrs >AS ABOVE<

Jochen Prien has these latter two for Obgefr Wassermann, but I really don't believe this is so. For one thing the names either side begin "H" and they all begin the same, and the second letter loops out at the top not bottom making me think it's an "O".

Any thoughts

Keep Well

Johannes

Re: unidentified names within JG 77

Hi Johannes

On the off chance that it helps put a piece in the mosaic:

"9th June 1944 4./JG 77 0917 hrs B-24 Uffz "Enertz" but could be almost anything really."

...I have a reference to that one being claimed by an Uffz. Schummer but as you say with the 10th and 11th June claims supposedly being by Wassermann, that might not necessarily be the case. Hope it helps somehow.

Re: unidentified names within JG 77

Hi Nick and Russell

Many thanks for your interest and suggestions.

Unfortunately not in both cases.

With 9th June 1944, Richard Kürz makes the claim on the line beneath at 0918 hrs.
With 10th June 1944, Werner Herterich makes the claim two lines below at 0915 hrs.

But nice tries, keep them coming.

Kind Regards

Johannes
