Loss of English crew - June 1940
Hi,
While searching ebay for portraits of Luftweaffe fliers found this very gruesome image of English flier and crach site. On back of photo is some information concluding date June 1940. Is there enough information on wreckage to denote casualties? Thanks Rick Last edited by Nick Beale; 17th June 2013 at 00:34. Reason: Deleted photo (image of dead airman) |

Re: Loss of English crew - June 1940
Hi,
If its June 1940 then it could be the 49 squadron Hampden (P4305) lost on June 26/27th whilst on a gardening mission. They were based at Scampton and were hit by flak eventually crashing into the Kaiser Wilhelm Kanal. Gerry Last edited by gedburke3; 17th June 2013 at 13:54. Reason: Thoughtlessness |

Can you not use the edit function in your post to remove the link to the photo? Perhaps it would be possible to crop the image or obscure the body so the image with the aircraft letters was still visible.
