Lt Alfons Raich 7/JG3 - Crash Date in August 1940

On pages 95-97 of Patrick Eriksson's Alarmstart these is a fairly lengthy quote by Lt Alfons Raich of 7/JG3 describing how his Bf 109 was damaged in a combat mission in early-mid August. The 109 crash-landed in France with Raich receiving minor injuries. Does anyone know the date of this incident? There is a loss entry for an unknown pilot of 7/JG3 for 16 August, with the aircraft force-landing as Desvres with 40% damage, but Raich's account describes him crashing in a valley before he reached Desvres.

I would suggest the injuries were minor so the pilot’s name was not recorded. A generic location would have been recorded so if this is the only possibility might I suggest that without a KTB or FB 16 Aug 40 is a possibility

Thanks Chris – I am of the same opinion, unless more information turns up!
