Bf 110 loss in UK 12 Sept 1940.
There may be several candidates for this one. At eBay here there is a photo of a Bf 110 which has belly landed somewhere in UK. On the rear of the photo it is written;
Honey, This plane was shot down by one of our gunners Sept 12/40. There were 3 humans in it, pilot and two gunners, one gunner was dead. Pilot and one gunner alive. The number of crew members looks like it may have been changed from 2, so perhaps an over-exaggeration. The a/c id looks like a +L but nothing else to clearly help identification. Any ideas? Ian |

Ian,
Thanks for the 'heads-up' on this snap - it made the perfect Christmas present to myself. I suspect that it is an hitherto unknown fourth view from a series taken by the Canadian Corporal responsible for guarding the wreck. |
