Ju 88/A4 08.02. Konavle, Croatia (Dubrovnik area)

Hi all
Few days ago I was able to discover location of crash landed Ju 88/A4 -KG77 near Dubrovnik, Croatia on 08.02.1942. According to the pictures found on web I was able to find true location and to find quite amount of pieces, including some sort of production or w.n. plate.

http://falkeeins.blogspot.hr/2015/04...zung-nach.html

Also I was able to find first hand witness (96 y.o.) who told me basic story about the crash.

So.
Where I can find Luftwaffe loss detail about this case (doc. number or name).
thanks in advance
Antun

Korfuma - there is no such location in Croatia, unless it was a misspelling for Konavle.

Regarding the place of loss ...

The NVM gives "Nördlich Korfu", i.e. "north of Corfu" (Greek island), what explains the "Korfuma" in the GQM (misspelled, misread, ...).

All 4 crew were only slightly injured.

Kind regards, Uwe K.

So the question is whether the given date, 8 February 1942, is correct, or otherwise?

And what about the 96-year-old eyewitness? How could he have been near Dubrovnik and north of Corfu at the same time? The very, very elderly, like this gentleman, can be confused and delusional at times.

Re: Ju 88/A4 08.02. 1942. Konavle, Croatia (Dubrovnik area)

Leo thank you very much for information.
I appreciate it.

Few words more, I really don't want to be misunderstood.
Last year I found pictures from web site stating that on 08.02.1942. Ju 88/A4 - KG 77 crash landed near Dubrovnik, Croatia. Location is somewhere 10 km from place where I live (Cavtat). There is a small bridge, railroad in distance and mountain "Babina međa" above Cavtat.

All information I got is from the web site plus only one mention in book.
Also in Čilipi (nearby village) I was able to find witness who told me where location is and generally explained how aircraft look like. Her land was next to the location and she was walking to her land on daily basis in that time. She is 96 y.o. and is still walking and very sharp in her head. Later on I showed her pictures and she recognized the aircraft and described on which land it was and what happened to aircraft. She was in Konavle all the time. (to Larry)

All this happened in Konavle county some 15 km south east of Dubrovnik.

In report there is statement that aircraft crashed north of Corfu. Konavle and Dubrovnik is actually north west of Corfu. Not very close but.
In reports locations can be misleading, I had some cases with wrong location.

Also the serial 3604 is clearly visible on one picture and KG 77 sign.
On additional pictures from the web site there is more information about the crew and picture taken in Dubrovnik, (Lapad - hotel Park).
There is insert from letter sent to father of Diecke on the web site as well.

Parts were found where I was told where it crashed and according to the pictures. So, to me, report about location is wrong (but not 100 %) maybe because of disorientation (who knows).
Date of crash is correct and information about the crew as well.
Also serial and KG 77 is also correct.
