PR Typhoons

Greetings all,

some number of the Hawker Typhoon are converted into the photo reconnaissance role. Is there any complete list of the machines converted?

Cheers

Re: PR Typhoons

The Typhoons were converted to FR (Fighter Reconnaissance) not PR standard. 200 airframes (aircraft which had been taken from the production line and stored, without engines, when the Sabre problems were at their height) were earmarked for conversion but the conversion programme was halted when the Typhoon proved unsatisfactory in the role and Typhoons were in short supply for their primary role.

I have seen a figure of 'about 60' for the number of conversions carried out but have identified serial numbers for about 30 only (in the EJ, EK and JP ranges). As far as I know a full list does not exist.
