On the Highways of the Skies: The 8th Air Force in World War II

Anyone seen this book by Martin Bowman/Schiffer?

Hi JJ,

FWIW I was browsing it in the Aviation Bookshop a few days ago - what can I say? Large 'coffee-table' tome, lots of pictures, lots of text. Very expensive. Didn't grab me at all....unlike the new Histoire et Collections title from Gregory Pons devoted to the 9th AF; usual H&C format/page layout, not quite as large or as expensive as the Schiffer book but full of superbly reproduced pictures & fabulous colour

What was the text like (personal accounts, standard narrative etc)? That H&C book looks interesting, though the advertizing text makes my stomach turn, so propagandist it is.

..plenty of personal accounts sure, but I've no idea whether they have appeared in his previous works or not.
