The Luftwaffe losses summary database has for this day (3rd April 1943) two aircraft of 10./SKG 10 "damaged without enemy action on operational flight", reported on 10 April.

On the other hand, 30% damage in Tunisia one month before the fall of the whole area and no means to evacuate these aircraft: they were probably never repaired and so should appear somewhere as total losses.

Re: SchG2 or SKG10 in Tunisia April 1943

WNr 5878 was found in May'43 at Sidi Ahmed-Karouba a/f in "fair condition", WNr 5871 at the same place as "scrap"
Other a/f is La Fauconnerie-Süd.

Thanks Roland

Can people having Luftwaffe losses database check if the final fate of these aircraft was recorded, or if their entries on 19 April 1943 for the damage suffered on the 3rd are the last ones ? Thanks in advance

Re: SchG2 or SKG10 in Tunisia April 1943

Is there any information on the pilots of these aircraft or would the fact that they walked away unharmed mean no details were recorded of them?

regards

Keith

Re: SchG2 or SKG10 in Tunisia April 1943

Hi Laurent and Keith,

the entries in the GenQu. loss reports on 19 April 1943 No. 112 and 113 for the damaged FW 190 A-5 5878 and 5881 are the last ones.

The spelling Fauronnerie is incorrect, Fauconnerie is correct.

In the GenQu. reports about aircraft accidents and losses ("Flugzeugunfälle und Verluste bei den Verbänden") only dead, injured and missing crew members are mentioned. Columnes and informations for unharmed persons were not arranged.

Regards
Leo

La Fauconnerie please with a "c"; from Faucon = Falcon; The place Falcons were trained for traditional hunt.
