Heinkel casualty -19th July 1940

Good afternoon all -

Seeking info. for KG55 He111 crew crashed in English Channel south of Shoreham by Sea Sussex - 19 July 40
ie. believed listed as follows :-

Uffz. Biskup / Fw. Maeder / Oblt. Westhaus / Fw. Kasten / Gefr. Mensel

First three killed - not sure last two ie. Fw. Kasten / Gefr. Mensel - presumably survived PoW.......?

Any further details incl. burial details welcome.

He 111 P 7./KG 55 G1+AR
F Uffz Max Biskup killed
B Oblt Rudi Westhaus killed
Bf Fw Kurt Maeder killed
Bm Fw Rudolf Kasten missing
Bs Gefr Arthur Meusel missing.
Shot down during an attack on Southampton by F/Lt. R. G. Dutton, P/O M. A. Newling and P/O A. Ostowicz from No.145 Squadron in the sea 5 miles off Shoreham-by-Sea, Sussex.

Gen.Qu. loss report from July 27, 1940:
19.7. III./KG 55 F He 111 P 100%, Oblt Westhaus + 4 vermisst.
Corrections from April 17, 1941 (Hptm Westhaus tot angeschwemmt) and July 23, 1941 (ein weiterer Mann gefallen).

7./KG55 Heinkel He111P. Engaged by Red Section of No.1 Squadron (S/L D.A. Pemberton, F/O P.G.H. Matthews, and P/O D.O.M. Browne) 20 miles north of Brighton during reconnaissance sortie to Bristol and Southampton. Eventually shot down by Red Section No.145 Squadron (F/O R.G. Dutton, F/O A. Ostowicz and P/O M.A. Newling) and crashed in the Channel five miles off Aldwick 6.00 p.m. FF Uffz Max Biskup, BF Fw Kurt Maeder, and FF Oberlt Rudi Westhaus all drowned, BM Fw Rudolf Kasten and HS Gefr Arthur Mensel both missing. Aircraft G1+AR 100% write-off.
Nothing was found despite searches by both the Selsey lifeboat Canadian Pacific and Shoreham Harbour lifeboat Rosa Wood and Phyllis Lunn.
