R/Flg.Ers.Batl./VII ?
From an old thread I can thanks to Kaczmarek conclude that this abreviation is for Flieger Ergänzungs Batallion VII, basic military training.
Questions are, can anyone tell what the "R" stands for and have any idea where and when this unit was active? Thank you Peter |

Re: R/Flg.Ers.Batl./VII ?
I think that correct name is Flieger Ersatz Batallion. Abbreviation of Flieger Ergänzungs Batallion should be Flg.Erg.Btl. As far as I know, Flg.Erg.Btl. had always a two-digit arabic number (Flg.Erg.Btl. 10 - Flg.Erg.Btl. 41). Flg.Ers.Btl. had a roman number (Flg.Ers.Btl. I - Flg.Ers.Btl. XVII). Please niote that all consequtive numbers were not used.
R means probably Reserve Kompanie. Some Kompanies of this Batallion were located at Nagold, Grosselfingen and Sulz/Neckar. Matti |
