Ju87 BI+MC in Reggio Emilia (Italy)

Hello,

I got the information the Ju87 BI+MC was seen at Reggio Emilia airfield (Italy).
Do you know if it was part of NSGr. 9 ? Or which group ?
Do you also know crew name and do you have any information of the period ?
Any information is welcome, thank you

It very much depends on the date. The Regia Aeronautica flew Ju 87s and there were German daylight Stuka units in Italy during 1941–1943. NSG 9 used Cavriago (province of Reggio Emilia) as a base in July 1944.

This Ju 87R-2, wr. nr. 5686, was the delivered to Regia Aeronautica, becoming MM 7071. As such, it was in service with various italian units at least since november 1942. On 12 august 1943 it was damaged, even though repairable, at Lonate Pozzolo. Probably it was seized by the Germans after the armistice of 8 september 1943.

I think it's likely that this aircraft was noted at Reggio Emilia during the delivery flight from Germany in 1942.

ciao
