Landing Ground, Western Desert
Hi guys
I am having difficulty locating a landing ground in the Libyan/Egyptian border area called GARWALA/GARRALA or similar. It was west of Sidi Barrani, and was occupied by German forces in August 1941. Any help appreciated. Cheers Brian |

What are you working on then? I believe your info is wrong. There was Maaten Gerawala, it was SE (!) of Mersa Matruh, and there is no way it was occupied by the Germans in August 1941. I believe it was either LG 09 or LG 10. http://www.wwii-photos-maps.com/targ...platz%202.html On a more general note, there were no major operations I am aware of in August 1941 that would have led to the occupation of an LG. All the best Andreas
