Cpt. Annibale Sterzi

Hello All,

I have two little question to cpt. Annibale Sterzi, commander of 358. Squadriglia. He was shot down and killed over Malta on 26. May 1942. He piloted Reggiane Re.2001. Do somebody know the serial number (MM) and number of his plane?
And do somebody know (or have) the portrait or some other photo of this pilot?

Thanks for your answer and help!

Michal

Sterzi was promoted CO of 358a Sq. (22° Gruppo of 52° Stormo) after his return from the Spain, before WWII.

MM. and individual number of his Re. 2001 is not known.

Recently I discovered that when Capt Sterzi plane was shot down on the 26th May 1942 at 15:45 it came down in flames in my great grandfather field while Sterzi's body was found some 1200m away since he jumped high from his stricken plane and his parachute failed to deploy.
