B-17 raid LE TRAIT 24 AUGUST 1942

Was this raid intercepted by any LW units? The 12 B-17s suffered minimal damage (3 aircraft) but I am unsure this was AA fire.

regards

Keith

Both JG 2 and JG 26 tried to intercept this raid but according to JG 26 War Diary by Caldwell no German fighter could reach the bombers, all fighting the Spitfire escort. The latter claimed 3-1-4 Fw 190 for two losses and 2 damaged, the German units claimed 6 Spitfires (1 by JG 2, 5 by JG 26) apparently without loss.

As precised by Rottler, JG 2 had one loss, but not due to enemy action.
