P-47 part identification

Hi,

Here is a picture of a part i found some weeks ago on the crash site of a P-47 Thunderbolt near Marseille, in the south of France.

On the edge is written :
"FAFNIR",
"K37 B",
"Made in USA"

Does anybody know where does this part come from ?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Regards,

Vince
