Do18 crew interned Holland 27/9/39???

Hi guys

On 27 September 1939, a Do18 was shot down by Skuas from Ark Royal. It would seem that a second Do18 was hit and I have a note that it alighted with engine damage at the mouth of a river on the Dutch coast.

Is this correct? If so, what was its identity and was the crew interned?

Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
Brian

Re: Do18 crew interned Holland 27/9/39???

Hi again Brian,

This reminds me of the Do.18D-2 M2+LK Werknr 0718 of 2./KFlGr106 which landed on the beach of the Dutch Frisian Island of Ameland.
However, this happened on 13th September 1939...

Regards,
Hans Nauta

Sorry, no other Do 18 loss than the one off Scotland (M7+YK W.Nr. 731 of 2./506) reported on the 26. or 27. September 1939.
