Return on the Do217 crash site
Past week we returned to the Do217 crash site. We find, as always, a lot of fragments, but nothing that can help us to identift serial number of aircraft.
The aircraft should be the same group that 9 sept 1943 attacked battleship ROMA of italian navy (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian...hip_Roma_(1940) )with radio bomb FX-1400. In the day this aircraft was shot down (16 sept. 1943) the Do217 attacked the allied battleship in Salerno's Gulf and shot again with a FX-1400 battleship Warspite (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Warspite_(03) ) In the first morning we go up to the over 1000 mt of crash site. The researchers Some idea about these parts??? (This is just a selection of more relevant fragments). 1 This should be a part of BMW 801 engine.
