Leutnant Helmut Viedebantt - 18 April 1941
Hello
I have read that on 18 April 1941 the Bf 110 D-0 flown by Leutnant Helmut Viedebantt (23 victories, RK, killed in flying accident 1 May 1945) of 1.(Z)/JG 77 was damaged in aerial combat with a Blenheim twin-engined bomber of 141 Sqn, RAF. Although he was able to land the aircraft at Mandal the Bordfunker baled out over the sea and was lost. Is the name of this unfortunate man known? Many thanks for any help. Horrido! Leo |
