Re: Fw 200 C losses on 28th July 1943

Guys

I am interested in the date and a possible mix up by Nowarra in his Fw 200 book. Nowarra state
28.7 WNr 0177 crashed at Merignac
29.7 WNr 0132 lost in combat over the Atlantic
31.7 WNr 0202 lost on a combat mission

With regard to 0177 and the way he writes about the loss, it does not look like a combat mission and surely no crew could have been taken prisoner if that was true. Could it be that 0177 was lost over the Atlantic on 28/7 and 0132 was the one that crashed at Merignac?

Something is wrong here. Care to comment Chris since I have a feeling you are the authority here with your research in this area. I have your book Bloody Biscay but it is not about the war with Fw 200 so I don't think this combat is in there, is it? Admit I just took a quick peek inside...

Cheers
Stig
