Unit histories - KG 6/KG 66/NSGr. 20/JG 6

Dear Experten,
Sometime back there was news about a new KG 6 history (not "Wir Flogen gen Westen" by Jan Horn). Also Marcel Heijkop/Hogenhuis (excuse my confusion, don't remember the exact name) was supposed to have been working on a KG 66 history.
Again, Christian Moller (?) was supposed have been working on a NSGr 20 unit history and John Manrho on the JG 6 history.

I apologise if any of this is confidential information - it was being discussed on message boards some time back hence my question.

Any news/updates on the above ?

I can shed a bit of light on Christian's project since I had some input into it. He started off researching the Nachtschlacht arm in general - we met at an NSG 9 reunion - but then went on to do a Ph.D. thesis on the NSGs in the West (i.e. NSG 1, 2 and 20). So it's not an NSG 20 unit history per se.

IIRC when we were last in contact he was looking to find a publisher for the thesis. I'm not sure if we have to call him Doktor Moeller yet!

The first volume of the KG 6 history was published a couple of years ago. I thought there was to be a 2nd volume, though it has yet to appear.

Hi,
Is it "Wir Flogen gen westen Teil 1 - Die Chronik des Kampfgeschwaders 6 der deutschen Luftwaffe 1941-1945" by Jan Horn, or is it by another author ?

Hello,

What is the exact title of the KG 66 history edition? Was it ever published?

Regards,
Timon

Marcel van Heijkop is certainly still working on I./KG 66 and, I believe, still finding new material.

Re: Unit histories - KG 6/KG 66/NSGr. 20/JG 6

Regarding the JG 6, today I discovered an interesting announcement on JaPo website: https://japo.eu/products.php?cat=1

Focke-Wulf Fw 190s of Jagdgeschwader 6 in WWII Final Operations

Jaroslav Farkaš, Aleš Janda, Tomáš Poruba

The next volume in the series of books on the Luftwaffe history over the Czech territory will focus on the final days of WWII and fighter JG 6. The unit based at airfields located in northern Bohemia participated in the defence of Berlin against Soviet armies. For the first time in our series we attempt to analyze in detail air operations of both parties day by day, while concentrating on missions flown by JG 6. The second part of the book offers information on unit’s equipment with a particular focus on the Fw 190A and D. Like in our earlier volumes, we also introduce several aircraft in detail, including their career and camouflage.

Scheduled for 2024
