140 Squadron ORB HELP - matching missions

Good night to all.

I have acquired the Record of Service of 140 Squadron for the month of APRIL 1942. However for the 30th April 1942, we do have some 12 missions recorded for the full length of the day and the codes are not informed on the right corner, as in some other PR Squadrons like 540 Squadron (which do record the mission or target for each entry).

Therefore I can not identify the pilots who flew the 2 missions/targets I am looking for....which are:

Mission or Target R131 (D) and R190 (C)

Does someone have a clue WHERE I can match the Mission/Target with the pilot? Is this on the Summary of Events?

Does anyone do know WHO flew mission R131(D) and R190(C), so I can match them??

Thanks for any info that can solve the mistery...

Adriano

Re: 140 Squadron ORB HELP - matching missions

Hi Adriano,

The 140 Sqn ORB only lists 11 sorties for 30 April 42. Neither the F.540 and F.541 list the sortie reference associated with the specific sortie.

Best Regards

Dear Andy, it has been quite some time!

I thought you would have the answer! Sad News...do have several other missions to match, but guess that with 1 PRU you will be able to assist me, though. Will start a new thread about this topic soon.

Am slowly returning to early projects stopped since I started the "Brazilians in RAF Service" huge Project (some 1,700 pages written already in 6-7 volumes + other small projects, like the biography of our WW1 greatest ace - Captain Gordon Fox Rule, DFC, CdG - soon to be published)...and now a kid to take care and enjoy! But going....and happy!

And your Project?

Take care friend
Adriano B.

Hi Adriano,

Still busy researching the PRU when I can but real life has severely curtailed my research for the last year or so.

Best Regards
