A tale of 2 "Vollandt-s"

Dear all,

At the moment I'm reading Ulf Balke's KG100 "Wiking" unit history. Balke mentions that on 23 June 1944 the body of Fhj.Fw. Hans Georg Vollandt (Beobachter of He 177 A-3 6N+IK, W.Nr. 2357, Bes. Hptm. Herbert Dostlebe, that went missing on 21 April 1944 after a mission against Hull) washed ashore on Ameland Island, The Netherlands.

Just curious, but does anybody know if this man is related to Flugzeugführer St.Fw. Heinz Vollandt (DOB 5 January 1913) of 1./KG66, who was KIA with his crew on 16 December 1944?

Thanks in advance,

Marcel
