Hence my question:who is right?,who is wrong?
What "would be the identity of the He-111"?

Rather than one of us trying to second guess who is correct, why not find a way of contacting the authors and asking them for their own sources of information for their respective books, and then you can come to your own conclusion.

I have a letter from Crew in which he lists his claims & what he was flying. I will try to find it next week

I can confirm his logbook said R2258; no idea of the code

I have "Facey" in my database; Martin says "G A Facey", and you say "Lacey". Any comments on which is right? He had another claim with Facey on April 2, 1942.
