320th BS Liberator shot down 20 Jul 1943 - id?
Danish born US War Correspondent Carl Thusgaard was on-board a 320th Bomb Squadron, 90th Bomb Group B-24 Liberator downed by Japanese fighters on 20 July 1943. According to my information the a/c was flown by Lt John B. Willcoxon and over the Madang area when attacked.
http://www.danishww2pilots.dk/profiles.php?id=266 The circumstances are mentioned on this website (I have ordered, but not yet received Word's book on the 90th BG) http://www.theusgenweb.org/co/yuma/v...McCalmntHV.htm Would anyone be able to identify this aircraft? Regards, Mikkel Plannthin
