Code on Dornier : KG 255

Good evening,
i have some interrogations about this Dornier,
Photo coming from Metz Aréa 1941 in Théory (Hm ....)
we can see part of insigna from one Kg : 51 or 255
Code for KG 51 need to be 9K +..
On this plane, we see ?P+TH or ?R+TH,
So certainly Kg 255 but circa 1939 not 1941 ...
Who can help ...

Re: Code on Dornier : KG 255

Hi,

Dorniers as such aren't my thing but, if it helps........

It definitely looks like a KG51 emblem, the top of the first letter seems to me to be a V, and the second more a P than an R. How about an aircraft with factory/radio codes ie VP+TH or VR+TH, could these be in a Dornier series?

Probably not much help!

Regards

David

Thanks for your réponse,

Yes i think you right, it's one Plane from KG 51 Edelweiss with factory code,
i have read somewhere one old article who say the KG 255 has Edelweiss before KG 51, but i know now it's not exactly similar ...
I search about VP +TH and VR+TH

Best Regards, Dan

Re: Code on Dornier : KG 255

KG51 was formed from KG255 in the general reorg around May '39. Retained the Eidelweis. Refs show Do17M on strength although my first reaction was that this is a P.
