Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Marc,

I am documenting the Ju 88G WNr. 620 507 that you have noted above. I have Balss' book and found the loss there. I also have the Lw. daily materiel loss reports (LwGQM 6. Abt.), but I can't seem to find the entry there. Could you give the number of the LwGQM 6. Abt. report or the date of the report, with the entry number for the 620 507? This would be very very much appreciated.

Thank you for your contribution to this case

RA

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Yellow rudder, white outlined red individual aircraft letter, spiral spinner - all hallmarks of a, new to me, Rote E of 2./NSGr.10

Only issue I can see is the location, Mainz-Finthen, far too far west for 2./NSGr.10 - are we certain (I know it’s based on the location of the 88G-6) that's correct?

Good call, and the single-letter code (or at least one visible letter) fits.

I think the Werk Nummer could be 412311 but enlarging the picture doesn't make it any clearer.

True (others were seen in Bavaria/Austria, weren't they?) but then again planes can move about!

Brilliant, Roger. Thank you. (I wonder why it had the flame suppressors on the exhausts?)

Dear Rabe Anton,

Sorry, I don't have a copy of the original documentation; all the above in formation is from Michael Balss's loss list. Maybe he will have more references ?

Cheers

Yes ! There was a "Fritzlar flair" for those shots on offer. Thanks for nailing it, Roger !

Cheers
