Some JG 5 Losses in Russia (details)

08.01.43 8./J.G.5 F Murmansk havn Unknown Bf 109F-4 7520 Gelbe 2 100% Uffz. Friedrich Rennemann (F) POW

08.01.43 1 Bf-109 was shot down in air fighting by Capt Fomchenkov of 19 Gv.IAP flying Airacobra near Zimnyiaya Motovka. German pilot Uffz. Friedrich Rennemann was taken POW.

03.04.43 9./J.G.5 F Ukjent Missing Bf 109F-4 8993 Gelbe 3 100% Obgfr. Eugen Fritz (F) Missing

03.04.43 1 Bf-109 was shot down in air fighting by Maj Bochkov of 19 Gv.IAP flying Airacobra near Yurkino. Next day plane was found and expected by soviet soldiers. Pilot was killed, his documents were taken from the wreck. That was FW (as mentionrs in Soviet documents) Eugen Fritz (in documents - 'Britz').

29.04.43 6./J.G.5 F Ved Murmansk Missing Bf 109G-2 10394 Gelbe 2 100% Fw. Erwin Fahldieck (F) Missing

29.04.43 1 Bf-109 was shot down in air fighting by 4 Airacobras of 20 Gv.IAP leading by Capt Borzenko near lake Pajve-Javr. German pilot Fw. Fahldieck (in Soviet documents - 'Faldick') was taken POW.

Assume you know the wreckage of 8993 was recovered a few years ago.

03.04.43 Bf109F2 W.Nr8993 (GC+KQ) 9./JG5 'Eismeer' 'Yellow 3' 100%. Jagerbeschuss. Murmanshi. Nord Rußland. Obfr Eugan Blitz. Vermißt.

Came to UK and now in Germany.

Ex-JG54 aircraft

according to all original documents I have, the pilot was named Eugen Britz. (dog tag 107/68455)
