Is there a museum at Abbeville aerodrome?
Hi all,
I am currently staying near Abbeville aerodrome in France. (about 30 miles away). Does anyone know if there is a museum at the aerodrome or nearby? I should like to pay it a visit. I have tried to google it and have mixed results. Kind regards Gerry |

Re: Is there a museum at Abbeville aerodrome?
Gerry, there's no museum at Abbeville Aerodrome. I don't know if there is such a museum in the area at all. When you drive a bit further up North to Helfaut-Wizernes, there's an impressive German bunker (of about 75 metres in diameter), which luckily has never been finished. The bunker is a museum now and it deals with the V-weapons and the space programme of the Germans and post war rocket development. It's maybe a bit far from Abbeville, but if you visit the museum ("La Coupole"), you won't be disappointed... It's not an aircraft museum, but it's an interesting WW II site...
Greetings, Piet |
