"Daylight saving Time" in the Mediterranean theatre

I believe that Allied adopted "Daylight saving Time" in the Mediterranean theatre during the war, anyway I'd like some confirmation of it.
I would also know, if possible, the exact period in which it was adopted, day and month.
Thanks.

Re: "Daylight saving Time" in the Mediterranean theatre

Interesting question indeed.

I know from the pages of the O.R.B. of 208 Squadron that on July the 15th 1940 : "Daylight saving time was introduced into Egypt with effect from 00.01 hours today. L.S.T. in Egypt is thus 3 hours in advance of G.M.T."
I was wondering if, once adopted it remained fixed for the duration of the conflict or not.
I was also wondering if the time recorded in Malta was the same recorded in Egypt.
Hope someone could help.

Ludovico.
