GERMAN PROPELLER, WHAT PLANE?

Hi guys,
I bought this heavy damaged propeller...the seller told me it cames from a JUMO engine
The measures are:

- High: 166 cms

- WIDE: circa 40 cms in the middle

BTW the propeller (or what it's remain) it's in wood with a metal base, there are some code on it paint or repainted in red, probably the serial number: 930308
Do you have some idea??
What kind of airplane can be?
I found out it is very similar to a Ju-88 or JU 87 o maybe FW 190 D prop but some has metal blades, other wood blades...I don't know
Thanks for any help

Re: GERMAN PROPELLER, WHAT PLANE?

That came out of Freeman Field in 2012.

It used to be mine,

The person who I gave it to in Germany thought it was Fw190 D9.

I never cleaned it, or looked at it in person...but now that I see the hand-written number on it, I can tell you it is from a He111.

Other props found at Freeman all had hand-painted numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.

Yours has a hand-painted "6" (this was done in the USA in 1944/1945), which leads me to believe this is blade #6...in which case, it would be from a 2-engine bomber (aka He111).

Re: GERMAN PROPELLER, WHAT PLANE?

Hi,

Thanks Snautzer, I log your information for future references.

Thanks Mike for your answer and complete information.

Now I know that the propeller was on use in He 111.

Then I guess 2 thinks:

- the propeller is VS 11 wooden type

- the He 111 fitted whit it was late model: H 10, H 11 and H 16.

The propeller was fitted in a HE 111 , but like the propeller is a VS 11 type is the same type that was in use of the Doras, isnt it?

Other thing, anybody has photos of HE 111 in Freeman airfield?

I find in the net, bu I do no find any.

One thing is sure: the propeller is not belongs to a HE 162

Re: GERMAN PROPELLER, WHAT PLANE?

I believe the 190 used the VDM 9-12176 A.

VS111 is the same for Ju88, Ju188, Fw190 D9

LEMB:

FE-1600, He111H-16 wrk nr 8433, 2B+DC (Red 4). This aircraft was flown to San Severo, Italy in December, 1944 by a Hungarian pilot. It was eventually shipped to Wright Field and was on the books May 16, 1946 and assigned to the Display Branch.

Re: GERMAN PROPELLER, WHAT PLANE?

Flown to San Severo north of Foggia, Italy, by a Hungarian pilot on 14 December 1944

believed to have been flown to Wright Field during January 1945, or possibly to have been shipped there at a later date

at Freeman Field by 16 May 1946

15 August was still there awaiting disposition.

Reportedly only pieces of this aircraft remain in storage at the Paul E. Garber Facility, including a wing spar, wing flap and cowling pieces.

Re: GERMAN PROPELLER, WHAT PLANE?

Hi guys,

Snautzer, thanks a lot for the photograph and the information and Mike too.

It is amaing think that the HE 111 of the ohoto could be the owner of the propeller.

One question more: what the HE 111 was flown by Hungarian pilot its meant that the Heinkel belonged to the Hungarian foreces? or was flown by hungarian pliot is a fortuity thing?

Regards
