Identity of Pilot of U8+CB of Stab I./ZG 26 1940
Today on eBay, a photo was auctioned that appeared to have the name of the pilot written in pencil on the back.
The photo was: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...2946730&ih=019 The tail shows 2 victory tabs and the pilot's name appears to be Lt. Reynier or Reymier, or something like that. Anybody got any idea who served on the Stab of 1940 during the French Campaign or early Battle of Britain with a name similar to that? Also, anybody know what this person's official position on the Gruppenstab would be? Thanx |

Re: Identity of Pilot of U8+CB of Stab I./ZG 26 1940
Hi gents,
Yes, I know it's an old post... but I should be interested in discovering the photo Larry was speaking about. Unfortunately for me the link is dead, today. May be somebody has saved the item on Hard Disk and could send me a copy of the photo via private message? Regards, |

Parabellum,
I got your PM, but am just swamped at the moment. I'm sure I have this; may even have bought it on eBay. I'll get back to you shortly. Regards, |

Re: Identity of Pilot of U8+CB of Stab I./ZG 26 1940
Michel,
I do have the photo in the EoE DB. Send me your email address by PM and I'll send you a copy. How can you help me ID this person? I've actually got two photos now of this a/c from different angles. It is planned for a color profile for the EoE Project. Regards, |

Larry,
Just wondering if I may remain reasonably optimistic, concerning the photo? Hope there's no problem with the PM Regards, Michel |

Re: Identity of Pilot of U8+CB of Stab I./ZG 26 1940
Parabellum et.al.
Here is the photo of Bf110C, U8+CB, of Stab I./ZG26 circa June-Aug, 1940, probably taken on a French airfield. Note the two victory tabs on the tail. This is probably either the T.O., 1a or even possibly the N.O. on the Stab of the unit. The handwriting on the back seems to say "Lt Reynier" or something like that. Once we are able to read his name correctly, hopefully we can match him with a pilot on the Stab of the unit. That was what I was looking for in the original post and what I'm still trying to do. http://ihra.smugmug.com/Airplanes/Po.../MCN7761-M.jpg This will very likely be one of the color profile a/c for the EoE project if we can successfully ID this pilot. Regards, |

Larry,
Shouldn't the seller, Heiko Fuchs, be able to tell you the name of that Lt.?
