Battle of Britain Then and Now - worth buying?

Hello all!

I have just a short question. Is it worth buying the book "Battle of Britain - Then and Now"?

If you are interested in the Battle of Britain, yes but make sure you get the updated volume

I seconded Chris, Mk V (1989) is IMHO the edition to look for.

I also agree, and if your interest is not limited in the battle of Britian, then the threee volumns of "THE BLITZ THEN AND NOW" are much better than "Battle of Britain Then and Now"

I have a large collection of military aircraft books, and this is one series I stay clear of, simply because the "now" has to be a changing situation, especially as more time goes by.
What I do notice with the more modern approach to "then and now" is the overlaying of Google type photographs with the "then" bits and pieces, as seen on the Mark Adkin's Books for instance. I rather like this approach, as it ages less I feel......
However it's a personal choice at the end of the day.

Hello AMC
itdepends what one wants. I bought the BoB Then and Now mostly for the loss info it contains ( that takes most of the book) and the histories of the airbases FC used during the BoB. In the Blitz T&N there are besides the daily diary much specific info e.g. articles on German bombs, on British fire brigades etc

Re: Battle of Britain Then and Now - worth buying?

Sorry for refreshing old meat but I have another question.
I've bought BoB T&N earlier than I had imagined and now I'm considering buying "Blitz: Then and Now" series. Is the whole idea about losses the same as in Battle of Britain and Battle of France books?

Not exactly, large potion of "Blitz: Then and Now"is focus on the life on the ground during the Blitz era, and speaking of Luftwaffe losses in the Blitz, only either when German aircraft crashed on British soil or when bodies of German aircrews were washed on the shore, then their losses would be recorded in this book
