Polish? aviator 1940
On September 9, 1940 a, pesumably, Polish RAF pilot was found on a Dutch beach.
He was wearing sports pants ??? a wristwatch, a medallion with an image of maria and a lifejacket with the following markings. Contract B.22551, 39/C.1/749/Patent M 307228, serial No. D.M. 3000 Feb. 1940 Are these marking common to all lifejackets of this particalar type or can it be identified to a specific lifejacket. All personal belongings were confiscated by the Germans All help will be apriciated, Dennis |
