He 111P W.Nr. 2143?

Hello.

I'm looking for any information on He 111P W.Nr. 2143 as it is mentioned in this document https://wwii.germandocsinrussia.org/...283085/zooms/3 as belonging to 5./KG 4 (code 5J+EN) in the beginning of the polish campaign, missing on 01.09.1939 on a mission to Lemberg (Lwow), crew Uffz. Klenk, Hölscher, Stolz and Stock.
Same source page 38 https://wwii.germandocsinrussia.org/...283105/zooms/3 this loss is given as He 111P W.Nr. 1549.
Rather confusing.
Can someone help?

BR

Re: He 111P W.Nr. 2143?

Thank you guys so far.

I'm still interested in the fate of W.Nr. 2143. Maybe this is another loss of KG 4 in the polish campaign? I don't know.

Re: He 111P W.Nr. 2143?

Hi Gunnar

From data previously supplied WNr 2143 was in a rather large batch, all delivered to KG 55.

I have nothing in particular on that aircraft myself, so a dead end I'm afraid.

Cheers
Stig

Bf 110:
On 12. Sept. 1939 Fliegerhorstkommandantur Breslau - Technische Leitung - reported a number of aircraft salvaged by the Werft of Fliegerhorst Schöngarten. One of the aircraft was He 111 P, Werknummer 2143, 4./KG 3, Bruchlandung at E-Hafen Oels.

Interesting Charles
Seems like previous info received by me was wrong even if quite a few WNr around 2143 did go to KG 55....

Sorry about that...

Hello Stig,

thank you for your reply. No problem. It was a shot in the dark. ;-)

Hello Charles,

thanks for this information. What irritates me, is, that KG 3 was equipped with Do 17 in 1939, so they should not have had He 111P. I guess there's some mixing up in this documents or typing error.
