Bf 110 and Ju 88 P from Tarnewitz?
In november 1943 a Bf 110 with 3,7 FLAK 18 and a Ju 88 P-1 with 7,5 cm Pak 40 flew from Tarnewitz to Esbjerg. They should participate in an experimental shooting at a Bunker near Nymindegab. A Hptm Grundmann leading this detachment. I'm looking for the Skz and if lucky pictures of these birds. And also the surname of Grundmann. Can anyone help?

Hi Chris.
Yes I was looking at him. But nothing on an attachment to Tarnewitz. Jörn |

A gap between 13 Aug 42 and 25 Feb 44 matches. He became St Kap of 6./KG 51 with the Me 410 before taking over II./KG 51

Re: Bf 110 and Ju 88 P from Tarnewitz?
Regarding Ju88P at ESt Tarnewitz I recall from a collection of Tarnewitz photographs, I noticed following data
- Ju88P 7,5cm Glasnase WNr 1182 on main gear strut, Foto Nr.7830 = J.36990) - Ju88P 7,5cm Blechnase Ju88P 5/7,5cm different Mündungsbremse (Junkers Foto Nummer J.36989, J.36882) |

Re: Bf 110 and Ju 88 P from Tarnewitz?
May I ask which WNr 1182 actually was?
Was it the standard 088 1182, 141182, 301182 or something completely different? Cheers Stig |

Re: Bf 110 and Ju 88 P from Tarnewitz?
It was the one and only "088 1182" (V53, SK+SD). And the unit with the Ju 88 P-1 was also called "Panzerjagdstaffel Grundmann". According to my documents Grundmann was detached from the KdE (Kommando der Erprobungsstellen).

Re: Bf 110 and Ju 88 P from Tarnewitz?
Thank You Peter
Coming to the rescue! Is it perhaps even possible to ID the second P-model with the non-glazed nose mentioned by Martin? I don't believe it was the V52 (WNr 088 2047) since, if photo captions are correct, it also had a glass nose. Maybe it was the V54, the first production P-1 (WNr 088 1881)? Cheers Stig |

Re: Bf 110 and Ju 88 P from Tarnewitz?
The photos of the 1182 mentioned by Martin were not taken at Tarnewitz but at the shooting range at Dessau in November 1942.
I don't know the other photos of a Ju 88 P with tin nose at this time, possibly also the V53 after repair and rebuilt? Where did you get your information of an Ju 88 V52/2047 and V54/1881 from? They seems to be wrong. 1881 is outside the range of the Ju 88 A-4 serial numbers and 2047 is an A-1/A-5. Unfortunately I don't have any information on V52 and V54. First production Ju 88 P-1 was the Ju 88/1248/TI+MV, first flight (as P-1) on 5 Febr 1943 and on 13 Febr 1943 transferred to Tarnewitz. |
