D V Couta RAF Kenley 1938

Hi all,
I have a Christmas card dated 1938 from somebody with the name of D V Couta.
He or she were obviously based at Kenley in 1938.
Can anyone tell me who they were and what their role was on the aerodrome.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
Regards
Gerry

There were some medals auctioned off in 2013 for L.A.C. D V Couta.

The name and serial number also appear on an 1945 Warrant Officers list (see 10th name in first column):

Re: D V Couta RAF Kenley 1938

Wow,
Thank you both for that information.
I'm gutted that I missed the medals up for sale.
I wonder which squadron he was with in December 38 whilst stationed at Kenley.
Am I correct in thinking that it must have been a fighter squadron (46 or 3)?
Many thanks once again
Gerry

He might not have been on a sqn but could have been on station strength

Hi Chris,
Of course, that is a possibility I hadn't considered.
Thank you

His WWI Navy record can be seen on fold3. HIs first posting, from 10 August 1915 to 27 Jan 1916 was on the Ganges. His first rating was BOY II.

https://military.wikia.org/wiki/Boy_...adult%20seamen.

The first two postings (Ganges and Victory I) were shore stations. If I am reading it correctly, the
third posting was on the HMS Theseus.

This should show his record (Couta.jpg) , which I put on my shared Google Drive:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...Mm?usp=sharing

(Note: The same record is also available (currently for free) from the British National Archives. I also put it as a pdf file on the Drive.)
