Identification

Dear all

Several weeks ago , I posed a thread , concerning the loss of A Bf 109G_6 shot down on 11 September 1943 at Jumieges , we have found hundreds for aluminium fragments , sometimes with oiriginal paint , nuts , electrical wires , remnants of burned tires ...

We dicovered only those 2 pieces with markings , the one on the left wore the stampled words (Auf-Zu) alongside a straight painted white stripe , the second one wore the marking 25 NW Argus .

Could someone confirm that it could be Bf 109 or DB605 parts ....

I know it is few information, the machine was in fire (confirmed by traces of burned ground) and exploded . The

Many thanks for your help

Eric

Re: Identification

Hi Eric,
I'm not of great help in identifying these parts, but a typical leftover of a 109 are some unimpressive longerons from the rear fuselage. I can't attach images here, but a look here http://109lair.hobbyvista.com/index1024.htm in the "walkaround" area of G-6 163306 would be of help...

All the best

Re: Identification

Hi Eric!

The "Auf-Zu is a fragment from an access hatch - most likely the Round Mutterkompass hatch just behind the cocpkpit on the port side.

The Argus part is a Fuel or Hydraulic line.

Both items were used on many types of aircraft...not just the 109

Re: Identification

Many thnaks to all of you for your answer

We confirmed it was a german aircraft , now we did not find any good evidence to identify it as a Bf 109G-6 , only ne was lost over my village on 11 september 1943 , Bf 109G-6 W.nr 20388 of Lt Kästler du 12./JG2 .

All witnesses say it was in fire when it crashed .

I have add a new photos of a part of the wrecks found . To note the pieces with RLM74 and RLM75 colour . SOme part are painted in RLM66 or RLM02 inside .

All the best for your help

Eric

Re: Identification

Hi Eric!

can you send close-ups of some of the parts? If it is Me109, I should be able to ID something as I have many, many wreck parts
